Research Assistant Professor

Yan Zhang is a research assistant professor at the Department of Sociology, the University of Macau. He obtained his PhD in criminology from the RegNet School of Regulation and Governance at the Australian National University. His research focus is restorative justice, qualitative research, and regulation and governance. His publications appear in leading criminology and criminal justice journals, including Justice Quarterly, International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology, Sexual Abuse, Asian Journal of Criminology etc. In addition, he has served as the managing editor of the Asian Journal of Criminology since 2012 and has been elected an executive board member of the Asian Criminological Society (2022-2024).
